Adams Garden-College of William and Mary

A special secret garden in the heart of downtown Williamsburg. Great place to relax and enjoy a contemplative moment on a busy day.

The Adams Garden is located next to Sorority Court at the intersection of Richmond Rd. and N. Boundary Street. Dedicated in November 1986 in memory of Gregory S. Adams, William and Mary College class of ’81. More than 200 donors contributed to its’ creation.

In addition azaleas, the garden now includes tropical and semi-tropical plants and an estimated 5,000 bulbs of various kinds. The garden’s success is owed primarily to Madelynn Watkinson, she started weeding the garden, as a volunteer, in 1986.
