Yorktown Day Schedule of Events

8:45 a.m.- Begin with the Commemorative Ceremony at the French Cemetery on the Yorktown Battlefield, sponsored by the Peninsula French Club.

9:15 a.m.- There will be a wreath laying ceremony at the French Monument memorializing French war veterans.

9:30 a.m.-Another wreath laying ceremony at Grace Episcopal Church at the grave of Governor Thomas Nelson, Jr., sponsored by the Virginia Society, Sons of the American Revolution.

10:30 a.m.- View the Annual Yorktown Day Parade, Main Street, sponsored by the Yorktown Day Association.

11:15 a.m.- View Patriotic Exercises sponsored by the Yorktown Day Association including a Memorial Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Monument to Alliance and Victory, Yorktown,.

11:30 a.m.- Enjoy a Brunswick stew lunch at Grace Episcopal Church, sponsored by the Yorktown Women’s Club.

12:30 p.m.- Stop by the National Park Service Visitor Center nd enjoy a performance by the Commander-in-Chief’s Guard and the Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps performed on the Yorktown Battlefield.

Additional Activities
Walk through the Town of York and see the Customs House, the Nelson House, the Gallery at York Hall, the York County Historical Museum. Don’t miss the National Park Service Yorktown Battlefield Visitor Center, and the Yorktown Victory Center.  On the Battlefield Tour Roads, visit the siege lines, the redoubts, the historic Moore House and Surrender Field.  On the riverfront, visit the Watermen’s Museum, the Riverwalk Landing piers on the Yorktown Waterfront and catch a glimpse of the schooner Alliance. Jamestown Settlement’s Godspeed will be open for public tours at Riverwalk Landing, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Yorktown Day.
